NJEDDA participates in Special Olympics and have teams in each of our three facilities. Our teams go bowling and participate in track and field events.
Our High School program offers “Boys Night Out” and “Girls Night Out” where the students remain at school on a Friday evening to make dinner, play games, or go on a field trip.
Our annual spring prom is something students look forward to. Our young men dress in suits and ties; our ladies wear gowns and dresses and have their hair and nails done. They all enjoy a lovely evening of dinner and dancing at a fine restaurant – without their parents, of course!
Each year, our high school sponsors two overnight trips to destinations such as Washington DC, Boston, or Philadelphia as part of our Language Arts and Social Studies curriculum. During this three-day, hands-on learning experience, students develop valuable independent living skills, as well as academics.
