Our pioneering Special Toddler Playgroup provides services to children ages 18-36 months who show delays in their physical development. Meeting three times a week, the group helps children reach their maximum potential while socializing with new friends.
Started in 2011, there is no other group like this in Northern New Jersey. This playgroup is an adjunct for home-based intervention where toddlers can implement their individual goals in the form of guided play.
Staff work along side parents in structured developmental activities that offer language stimulation, socialization, educational/play skills. Children have access to our wide array of assistive technology and our therapeutic movement room. Parents have the opportunity to support each other through their journey of nurturing toddlers with special needs.
Our bilingual teacher, physical therapist and speech/language therapist consult in the program each day, and our credentialed social worker is available to help families in need of community resources.
Toddlers can receive an evaluation from our Medical Director, a pediatric psychiatrist and can access our clinics for adaptive equipment and braces.
Thanks to generous support from the Elks, the program is free of charge.
