NJEDDA values our families. Our staff works hard to offer programs that engage, support and serve mothers, fathers, siblings, caregivers and extended family.
Each year, we provide individual and family support meetings. These events, coordinated by our school and adult center social workers, offer families information, guidance and support at they raise their sons and daughters. We also offer topic-centered workshops and seminars which feature recognized leaders in areas such as disability law, adult services, infant and toddler issues and more.
We also know how to have some fun! Each fall, we host a Family Fun Day where entire families – brothers, sisters, aunts, uncles, and grandparents – come to our campus and participate in arts and crafts, games, and other activities such as a petting zoo, face painting, and pony rides.
For parents of our high school students, extended community overnight trips offer respite from the day-to day responsibilities of caregiving.
